The Governing Board is responsible for all decisions relating to the operations and organization of Spark Center, including approval of proposals for funding by Spark Center and promoting Spark Center’s image.
Dang Hoang Giang – Chairman
Dang Hoang Giang has a wealth of experience and research in the society, culture and economy of Viet Nam. His areas of expertise include economies in transition, the socio-cultural aspects of the diffusion of the Internet in Asia, and the socio-economics of Viet Nam’s different regions. Since 2008, he has been Vice Director at Viet Nam Center for Community Support Development Studies (CECODES), a leading institution in Viet Nam working to promote civil society and strengthen its voice and its engagement with the state Mr Giang graduated with an MS. in Computer Science from the Technical University Ilmenau, Germany, and was later awarded a PhD in Development Economics by the Vienna University of Technology, Austria.
Vu Thi Bich Hop
Vu Thi Bich Hop has over 10 years’ experience, mostly in senior positions, with international NGOs, including Action Aid, SIS and CIDSE. Ms Hop has been Executive Director of the Center for Sustainable Rural Development (SRD) since March 2006. She was also elected as the Chairperson of the Vietnamese NGO and Climate Change Network (VNGO&CC), which consists of more than 50 Vietnamese NGOs. In addition, she is the Chairperson of the Alliance of seven Vietnamese NGO networks that include hundreds of individual NGOs. Ms Hop holds a BA in Economics from the National Economics University, Ha Noi, Viet Nam, a PGDip in Development Planning Techniques from the Institute of Social Studies, the Hague, the Netherlands, and a Doctorate from a joint Vietnamese and United States Education Program.
Vu Quang Thinh
Vu Quang Thinh is a management consultant with more than 22 years of business experience, including 9 years with international consulting firms. His particular strengths are in the fields of corporate restructuring, state-owned enterprise reform, operational review, financial review, strategic management, business analysis, corporate governance, human-resource management, and investment analysis. Mr Thinh obtained his MBA from Washington State University in the USA.
Nguyen Hung Quang
Nguyen Hung Quang is the Managing Partner of NHQuang & Associates, a prestigious law firm specializing in development consulting in Viet Nam. He is also the author of numerous publications about the law and has been honored with awards as ‘Lawyer of the Year’ and for his ‘Great Contribution to Administrative Procedure Reform’ by Ha Noi Bar Association and the Office of the Government of Viet Nam. Mr Quang holds an LLB from Ha Noi Law University, Viet Nam, and an MBA from United Business Institute, Belgium.
